do the new shoes get the approval of team keebler?

Yes, my new shoes do get the approval of Team Keebler! My brand new Reebok Zigtechs are amazing! I don't feel as much pain as I have been the past few weeks. It's very clear that the style of the Zigs do in fact absorb shock. Plus, they are pink and support the Susan G Komen Foundation... Doesn't get any better than that!
Here's a quick update for everyone: Today was the first day I was officially able to lift the same amount of weight on both knees. It's a very hard work-in-progress, but we're getting there! It has been too cold out to run Keebler lately, but we've been doing other fun activities to keep his muscles occupied and healthy.
One more quick thing! For those of you who don't have Facebook or Twitter to contact us on, feel free to email us! Our email is teamkeebler@live.com, we would love to hear from each and every one of you! Your support and prayers have meant the world to us... Keep it coming!

new running shoes!

Hello everyone! Again on this blog, similar to the last one, not a lot has changed with the training. Keebler is continuing to get his long pretty hair back and my knee is continuing to recover very nicely! I am almost to the point where I can lift the same amount of weight on each knee, although I am still very careful while doing physical therapy. I don't want to push myself and make things worse in the long run. We're hoping that by mid-March I'll be able to put more weight on my knee, but until then we're not taking too many chances!
The only real update I do have for everyone is that I got new running shoes yesterday! Hot pink Reebok Zigs, I highly recommend them! They are very comfortable and perfect to put on when you're longing for an afternoon run with your dog. The Zigs absorb shock that your legs get when your feet pound on the cement or pavement, and I can't wait to try them out at the gym tomorrow on the treadmill to see if it actually does make my legs feel better! I'll be sure to let everyone know. Until then, no updates for now, but please keep checking back.

update, not much to say here though

Hi followers, sorry it's been about a week or so since we've updated. Our schedule with Christmas is very hectic right now, hence not being able to hit up the gym as much as we should be. As much as we love Christmas season every year, we are very much excited for it to slow down a little this year so we can continue to focus on our main goal - getting back out there! We don't have much of an update this time around, just letting everyone know we're still going strong.

our important post-Eukanuba updates!

Hello everyone! We just have some post-Eukanuba updates we would love to discuss with our readers.
First off, the four missing Eukanuba dogs in the stolen van were all found and returned to David & Kristina safely, praise God! The dogs are doing great and we were very happy to hear of their safe return.
Secondly, our biggest wishes of congratulations go out to AKC CH Propwash Reckon "Reckon," a fellow Aussie who received Best In Show at Eukanuba this past weekend! Congratulations, Reckon! Team Keebler is very proud of you for being such a wonderful example to our breed!
Lastly, we want to thank all of the people who make Eukanuba such a success every year. Team Keebler is a huge supporter of Eukanuba both in the show world and at home, we would never feed anything less! To the Eukanuba workers, judges, stewards, reporters, and everyone who makes this show possible every year, our heartfelt thank-yous go out to all of you!
As for Team Keebler, this week has been a tad bit hectic and we have not been able to train as often as we have been. We've both had a lot going on this week, but next week we will be back into the groove of things and getting whipped back into shape! Keep checking for updates.
My final personal note is to tell everyone from the dog show world "thank you" for all of the birthday wishes I received yesterday. Hearing from all of you has been very refreshing and I am blessed to not be traveling this journey alone!

GOOD LUCK, Eukanuba teams!

This is just a quick blog to wish all of our friends GOOD LUCK for this weekend at the prestegious Eukanuba National Championship! We wish you all the best for this weekend and we hope you enjoy the sunny weather in Long Beach.  I can't wait until next year when hopefully I'll be traveling there to help the Eukanuba company with numerous events.
We would also like to express our sympathy at this time for our fellow Australian Shepherd breeder and close friend, Amy Loy, and her husband Mark due to the unexpected passing of Amy's father.  Amy is the owner of TwinCreek Australian Shepherds and the person who blessed me with my baby, Keebler.  Our thoughts and prayers are with you both at this difficult time.

please send a prayer for the missing Eukanuba dogs.

Hello everyone! We hope that your Thanksgivings all went well and we also hope that your post-Thanksgiving shows over the weekend went well also!
First off, we would like to express our sympathy to David Peek and Kristina Rickard, whose van was stolen while traveling to Eukanuba. Four of their show dogs (two Akitas and two Corgis) were inside the van and were taken with it when it was stolen. Since then, the two Akitas have been reunited with them but the Corgis are still missing. This a very serious matter and we hope that if anyone has any information, they will contact the police. People do not realize the bond between owner and dog, it's so strong that in most cases it can never be broken. David and Kristina, we are praying for you and we hope for a safe and happy return of all the dogs.
On a little bit of a happier note, training has been going well this week. I can feel myself getting stronger in my arms, but my legs still need a lot of work. It's been hard with such a knee problem to get back up and moving, but we know it can be done! The physical therapy has been helping immensely. As for Keebler, he is doing great. He's been moving this whole week and luckily he is gaining weight. We've actually been worrying lately about his needed weight gain turning into fat, but that can quickly be changed with some "uphill exercise!" We're keeping a close eye on the "rolling factor" that he had when he was younger in hopes that it doesn't reappear again.
That's really all we have for now. Basically right now things are still moving slowly since it is all a new beginning. Please keep checking for updates, and please send a little prayer in for our fellow Eukanuba dogs in hopes that they are all safe.

the first physical therapy session...

Hello everyone! Hope you're all planning for a safe and happy Thanksgiving tomorrow.
Today was the first day of my physical therapy due to some conditions in my knee, and luckily it went great. I'm starting to "feel the burn" but you know how the old saying goes... "No pain, no gain!" I really was feeling it this morning at work in my shoulders and I think the culprit is the shoulder press at the gym!
Yesterday was my first endurance day, and I'm really surprised how much my endurance has gone down since I was showing dogs all the time. It's something I need to work on more, but we're taking one step at a time here! Unfortunately I will not be getting the whole day off tomorrow, my family will be in my hometown for Thanksgiving and I will be hitting up the gym for another day of endurance practice, and Keebler will also be going for an early morning run tomorrow if the weather permits.
   Have a happy Thanksgiving everyone!

so how was your first day back?

Well, today was the official day... Our first day back to training! It went really well! We both just basically need to tone up more, so that's what we worked on. We're both really tired and a little sore, but this all going to be worth it! Tomorrow is an endurance day and it's also my last day of school for the fall quarter, so hopefully things go just as well tomorrow as they did today. I have a feeling though that we'll both be super sore tomorrow night!

yesterday & today! trying to keep up!

So I am not the best at getting online every night to update, but I figure I'll update when I really need to just to give everyone some fun reading!
I still can't believe I'm going back into some serious training tomorrow. It's going to be a nice easy start though since I don't have school this month... but it will be interesting to see what happens when school starts up again next month! I'm a little nervous about my busy schedule this winter, but I know that everything will work out as needed.
Yesterday I decided to clean out the kennel, and wow, was it a job! I took bleach solution and scrubbed the whole cement flooring to get it smelling fresh, and it took me a lot longer to do than I thought! Keebler was a little cranky considering he had to stay locked up in his pen for the time being, but now I think he likes the fresh smell just as much as I do!
I'm doing some last-minute shopping today for some gym equipment, my old stuff is getting junked out. I think Keebler knows that something is up, but I'm not really sure. I haven't changed his schedule much because I don't want him to get to stressed and overwhelmed all at once, but just like me, he starts training tomorrow also. I know he'll do great... he has never let me down!

our first blog!

Hi everyone, especially to those out there who know us through the world of dog shows. It's been a long time since we've competed... It's been since my senior year of high school which seems now like it was forever ago. And after being out of the sport for so long, we've decided to make a comeback and see what we're still made of! It wasn't the easiest decision to make because of course it seemed easier to retire and for me to "start fresh" to continue some sort of handing career. Keebler is more than a "business proposition" to me though, he's a best friend and I right now with my busy college schedule I would like to continue handing, and we made a decision to continue the journey together.
This blog will be a little "update" that everyone can peek at once in a while to see how it's going. We're not looking for a championship here, although I would like to mention that Keebler is AKC pointed already! We are just looking into continuing doing what we both love to do - dog shows! Although Keebler just recently celebrated his sixth birthday, he's still a young pup at heart! We haven't set a date of return into the sport yet, but we're aiming for sometime in this upcoming spring of 2011. We hope you all enjoy this little blog and continue to support us. We will post lots of little updates, pictures, and possibly even videos to keep everyone out there rooting for us updated.
Training for the long winter months ahead starts on Monday for both of us - stay tuned!
